RECORD OF THE PROCEEDINGS
OKANOGAN COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
August 1, 2005
The Okanogan County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on August 1, 2005, with Chairman Mary Lou Peterson, Commissioner Andrew Lampe, Commissioner Don Hover and Brenda Crowell, Clerk of the Board present.
Update – Planning
Greg Wilder discussed the progress on the Eastlake project. Commissioner
Peterson remarked that some landowners have concerns about the effects of the
new development. The concerns were, 1) that language be included on the right to
farm, 2) that there are adequate buffer strips, 3) the potential increase in
assessments, and 4) increased boating activity on the lake. Greg explained that
the right-to-farm notice will be given on each sale as well as being written on
the face of the plat. Regarding the assessed value, those rules are set by state
law. The use of the lake will have to be addressed in the county’s boating
ordinance.
Discussion – Homeless Housing and Assistance Act –
Auditor
Peggy Robbins requested an increase in the cash fund for the vehicle licensing
department. She has also drafted a resolution for sole source justification for
the Vehicle Licensing workstation. The $1.00 per recorded instrument for archive
will also be placed into the Current Expense Fund / Non-Departmental.
Resolution 78-2005 – Supplemental Appropriation –
Sheriff
Commissioner Peterson opened the hearing and noted that no citizens were present
for comment. Commissioner Hover moved to approve Resolution 78-2005,
supplemental appropriation to Current Expense Fund / Sheriff’s budget. Motion
was seconded and carried. (attached)
