OKANOGAN COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
November 28, 2005
The Okanogan County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on November 28, 2005, with Chairman Mary Lou Peterson, Commissioner Andrew Lampe, Commissioner Don Hover and Brenda Crowell, Clerk of the Board present.
Update - Planning
Greg Wilder briefed the Commissioners on the current negotiations with Legends
Resort regarding costs associated with the installation of a water and sewer
system.
Discussion - Fair Budget - Fair
Carl Christensen, Gwen Whitley and Jeri Rabenold presented the proposed 2006
Fair and Agriplex budgets.
Resolution 127-2005 - Public Hearing Supplemental
Appropriation – Elections
Commissioner Peterson opened the hearing and called for public comment. No
comments were given. Commissioner Hover moved to approve Resolution 127-2005 in
the amount of $15,000 for Current Expense Elections budget. Motion was seconded
and carried. (attached)
Resolution 128-2005 – Public Hearing Supplemental
Appropriation – Auditor
Commissioner Peterson opened the hearing and noted that no public were present
for comment. Commissioner Hover moved to approve Resolution 128-2005,
supplemental appropriation to the Current Expense Auditor’s budget in the amount
of $15,000. Motion was seconded and carried. (attached)
Resolution 129-2005 – Public Hearing Supplemental
Appropriation – Probation
Commissioner Peterson opened the hearing and noted that no public were present
for comment. Commissioner Hover moved to approve Resolution 129-2005,
supplemental appropriation to the Probation budget in the amount of $4,432.
Motion was seconded and carried. (attached)
Resolution 109-2005 – Public Hearing Supplemental
Appropriation – Juvenile
Commissioner Peterson opened the hearing and noted that no public were present
for comment. Bruce Moran stated that the funds have already been received from
the state. Commissioner Lampe moved to approve Resolution 109 -2005,
supplemental appropriation to the Juvenile budget in the amount of $3,750.00
Motion was seconded and carried. (attached)
Discussion – Kinross Mine - Commissioners
The Socio-economic Study has been a concern in Ferry County. Ferry County will
coordinate with Okanogan County to schedule a hearing for the adoption of the
Socio-economic study. The deadline for adoption is sometime around June of next
year. They requested that the Commissioner send a letter of support for the
Draft EIS. (attached)
Discussion – Vehicle Purchase – Veteran’s Advisory
Board
Don Cates and Judy Erbele
Don requested a letter supporting the purchase of a new van for the Veteran’s Advisory Board. The Commissioners suggested that Don check into getting the VA to provide a Health Care Service locally.
Commissioner Hover moved to approve the expenditure of $12,500 for a new vehicle for the Veteran’s. Motion was seconded and carried. (attachment)
Executive Session – Negotiations - Commissioners
Commissioner Hover moved to go into executive session for 30 minutes at 3:00 PM
for union negotiations. Motion was seconded and carried.
