OKANOGAN COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

October 10, 2005

The Okanogan County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on October 10, 2005, with Chairman Mary Lou Peterson, Commissioner Andrew Lampe, Commissioner Don Hover and Brenda Crowell, Clerk of the Board present.

Long Plat 2005-2 – Asher Meadows Long Plat – Planning
Ben Rough presented the staff findings (attached) for the Asher Meadows Long Plat. Commissioner Hover asked about the number of wells on the property. There are four wells but they have a combined allowable usage of 5000 gallons per day. Ben explained that the wells will be metered and water is for domestic use only. Commissioner Peterson noted that there will not even be enough water for livestock. The conditions of approval are pretty much the standard requirements. The Planning Commission recommends approval.

Commissioner Lampe moved to approve Long Plat 2005-2, Asher Meadows Subdivision, subject to the attached Findings of Fact, Conclusions and Conditions of Approval. Motion was seconded and carried. (attached)

Reasonable Use Exception – Oliver Wetland– Planning
Nick Christoph presented the staff report (attached) for the Oliver Wetland Reasonable Use Exception. The Planning Commission recommends approval.

Commissioner Lampe moved to approve the Oliver Wetland Reasonable Use Exception, RUE 2005-1, subject to the attached Findings of Fact, Conclusions, and Conditions of Approval. Motion was seconded and carried. (attached)

Discussion – Budget – Various Departments
The Board reviewed proposed 2006 budgets.

Discussion – County Medical Insurance – Washington Counties Insurance Pool
Representatives of the Washington Counties Insurance Pool presented a proposal to provide medical and dental coverage for the county. (attached)
