OKANOGAN COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
October 18, 2005
The Okanogan County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on October 18, 2005, with Chairman Mary Lou Peterson, Commissioner Andrew Lampe, Commissioner Don Hover and Brenda Crowell, Clerk of the Board present.
Discussion – Purchase Request – Planning
Greg Wilder explained that the Planning
Department purchased some equipment that cost over the $500 limit. Greg
explained that he thought the limiting Resolution only pertained to those items
that were not budgeted. Sandy Cox contacted both Commissioner Hover and
Commissioner Lampe last week for preliminary approval, which was granted.
Commissioner Lampe moved to authorize the director of planning to purchase 4 PDA’s. Motion was seconded and carried. (attached)
Discussion – Walking to Wellness Program – Public Works
Rob McGaughey, Jerry Verstegen, Murray McCory
Murry explained that he has joined the Steps to a Healthier Washington and attended a workgroup meeting. He explained how the trail system provides an opportunity for all to improve their health. He urged the county to develop a program promoting wellness.
Discussion – Road Projects – Public Works
Rob McGaughey briefed the Commissioners on
various road projects.
Motion – Consent Agenda – Commissioners
Commissioner Hover moved to approve the consent
agenda items 1 to 10. Motion was seconded and carried. (attached)

Contract – 2005 Law Enforcement – City of Okanogan
Commissioner Lampe moved to approve a contract
with the City of Okanogan for Law Enforcement Services for 2005. Motion was
seconded and carried. (attached)
Motion - Voucher Approval - Cmrs.
Vouchers certified and audited by the Auditing
Officer as required by RCW 42.24.080 and those expense reimbursement claims
certified as required by RCW 42.24.090 have been recorded on a list, and made
available to the Board. As of this date, the Board did by unanimous vote approve
the vouchers in the amount of $941,061.24.
MVEMS - Methow Valley EMS District
Commissioner Lampe moved to recess as the Board of Commissioners and convene as the Methow Valley EMS District Board of Directors. Motion was seconded and carried.
Voucher Approval – Emergency Management
Service – Methow EMS District
Commissioner Lampe moved to approve the voucher
for $30,000 for Professional Services of the EMS district.
Commissioner Hover called for any other business. There was no other business.
Commissioner Lampe moved to adjourn as the Methow EMS Board of Directors. Motion was seconded and carried.
Open Session resumed
Executive Session – Litigation – Commissioners
Commissioner Lampe moved to go into executive
session for 1 hour at 1:10 PM to discuss potential litigation. Motion was
seconded and carried.
Commissioner Hover announced the executive session would continue for an additional one hour at 2:10 PM.
