April 25, 2006
The Okanogan County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on April 4, 2006, with Vice Chairman Andrew Lampe, Commissioner Mary Lou Peterson and Brenda Crowell, Clerk of the Board present. Commissioner Hover in Washington D.C.
Update - Public Works
Frank Sautell, Bob Breshears, Verlene Hughes
Verlene Hughes presented a Right-of-Way Agreement with Dawne Allison Yattaw for the Loomis Oroville Road Project.
Commissioner Peterson moved to approve a Right-of-Way Agreement along the Loomis Oroville Road with Dawne Yattaw. Motion was seconded and carried.
Discussion – Development in Oroville
Doug Weeks, citizen of Oroville, asked about the proposed comprehensive
plan. He explained some developers are trying to put in projects prior to the
plan being adopted. Commissioner Peterson suggested that he speak with the
Planning Director on the matter. He noted that owners of property near his place
are planning on putting in a trailer park.
Discussion – Food Sense Budget – WSU Extension
Margaret Viebrock
Margaret presented a proposed budget for the Food Sense Program. Commissioner Peterson moved to approve an agreement with WSU for the Food Sense Program in the amount of $2000.00. Motion was seconded and carried.
Update – Parks and Recreation
Carl Christensen and members of the Parks and Recreation Board
Those present discussed preparations for the spring and fall fairs. The Spring Fair will be this weekend although it has been difficult to get community support for the Spring Fair. Commissioner Peterson asked Carl to make sure that the requests of the State Auditor are followed; i.e, receipts sequentially numbered, deposits made promptly and have a separate person monitoring receipts and deposits.
