The Okanogan County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on April 4, 2006, with Commissioner Mary Lou Peterson, Commissioner Andrew Lampe, and Brenda Crowell, Clerk of the Board present. Commissioner Don Hover attending a DNR Meeting.

Update – Public Works
Frank Sautell and Bob Breshears

Frank stated that the county landfill accepts cut up tires and his recommendation is that the county no longer accept them because it costs the county more to get rid of them than the county collects and the county is loosing money. The SWAC Committee requested that a resolution be done to not accept cut up tires. A disposal company has offered to bring a truck over to accept tires for the commercial dealerships to use. The landfill will continue to accept tires from private individuals.

Commissioner Peterson said that, given the noise problems with gravel pits, the county needs to be more site specific and follow the zoning requirements. The pits need to be closed when finished and reclaimed.

Voucher approval Motion - Voucher Approval - Cmrs.
Vouchers certified and audited by the Auditing Officer as required by RCW 42.24.080 and those expense reimbursement claims certified as required by RCW 42.24.090 have been recorded on a list, and made available to the Board. As of this date, the Board did by unanimous vote approve the vouchers in the amount of $360,091.08 warrant numbers 53443-53651. (attached)
