OKANOGAN COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
August 1, 2006
The Okanogan County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on August 1, 2006, with Chairman Don Hover, Commissioner Andrew Lampe, Commissioner Mary Lou Peterson and Brenda Crowell, Clerk of the Board present.
Executive Session – Public Works
Commissioner Peterson moved to go into
executive session for 15 minutes to discuss real property acquisition at 10:15
AM. Motion was seconded and carried.
Open Session resumed at 10:30 AM
Bid Opening – D8 Dozer – Public Works
Commissioner Hover opened the bids as follows:
Bob McDaniels $3,843.02
Mike McMillian $5,175.00
Commissioner Peterson moved to award the bid for the D8 Dozer in the amount of $5,175.00. Motion was seconded and carried.
Discussion – Tonasket EMS District
Steve Mattson presented information to the
Commissioners regarding the financial status of the Tonasket EMS District. He
explained the need for an increase in the revolving checking account as the
payroll and other authorized expenditures are approximately $1000 more per
month.
Motion - Consent Agenda – Commissioners
Commissioner Peterson moved to approve the
consent agenda items 1 through 6. Motion was seconded and carried.

Award
Resolution 89-2006 – Increase to TEMS Revolving Account
- TEMS
Commissioner Peterson moved to approve
Resolution 89-2006, increasing the TEMS district revolving checking to $6000.
Motion was seconded and carried.
Appointment – Tom Miniajluk – Marketing Committee
Commissioner Peterson moved to appoint Tom
Miniajluk to the Okanogan County Marketing Board. Motion was seconded and
carried.
Resolution 90-2006 – Emergency Fire Declaration -
Commissioners
Commissioner Peterson moved to ratify the
emergency declaration Resolution 90-2006 for the Tripod and Spur Peak Fire.
Motion was seconded and carried.
Voucher Approval – Emergency Management
Service – Tonasket EMS District
Commissioner Lampe moved to approve the voucher
for $1,124.78 for Professional Services of the EMS district.
Commissioner Peterson called for any other business. There was no other business.
Commissioner Lampe moved to adjourn as the Tonasket EMS Board of Directors. Motion was seconded and carried.

Presentation – Scenic By-Way
Chris Branch, Gail Halloway, Mike McKeef
Chris Branch provided the Commissioners with an overview of the progress and benefits to the Highway 97 Corridor being designated as a Scenic By-Way. He reported that it provides a benefit by raising awareness and promoting interest; WSDOT can promote the Region, Access to Federal Grants, transportation route changes to a destination, leads to other destinations and inspires organizations and partnerships.
