OKANOGAN COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

July 31, 2006

The Okanogan County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on July 31, 2006, with Chairman Don Hover, Commissioner Andrew Lampe, Commissioner Mary Lou Peterson and Brenda Crowell, Clerk of the Board present.

Update – Planning
Greg Wilder, Nick Christoph

Greg briefed the Commissioners on the proposed agreement with the City of Oroville for the East Lake Sewer System. Nick discussed proposed by-laws for the public participation plan for the Shoreline Master Plan.

Executive Session – Personnel – Human Resources
Commissioner Peterson moved to go into executive session for 30 minutes to discuss personnel at 11:05 AM. Motion was seconded and carried.

Commissioner Hover extended the executive session for an additional 15 minutes.

Open Session resumed at 11:50 AM

Executive Session – Litigation – Commissioners
Commissioner Lampe moved to go into executive session for 30 minutes to discuss litigation at 1:30 PM. Motion was seconded and carried.

Open Session resumed at 2:00 PM

Discussion – Risk Management
Heidi reported on her recent attendance to the meeting of the Risk Pool. The county’s experience is currently looking pretty good. They will provide additional resources for claims management and personnel solutions. There is no overall increase in premiums.

Discussion – Washer Purchase - Jail
Noah Stewart asked for authorization to purchase a new washer for the jail. He stated that it would be approximately $3000 to fix the old one. The current estimate for a new one is around $5,800.

Commissioner Lampe moved to authorize the purchase of a new washing machine in the amount of not to exceed $5800 to come out of the Jail budget. Motion was seconded and carried.
