The Okanogan County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on July 20, 2010, with Chairman, Andrew Lampe, , Commissioner Don Hover and Brenda Crowell, Clerk of the Board present. Commissioner Mary Lou Peterson
Motion – Flu Shots
Commissioner Hover moved to approve flu shots
for county employees. Motion was seconded and carried.
Resolution 263-2010 – Budget Transfer - Corrections
Commissioner Hover moved to approve Resolution
263-2010, budget transfer in the amount of $1000 for Corrections. Motion was
seconded and carried.
Resolution 264-2010 – Budget Transfer – Therapeutic
Court
Commissioner Hover moved to approve Resolution
264-2010 in the amount of $3000 in the Therapeutic Court Budget. Motion was
seconded and carried.
Resolution 265-2010 – Budget Transfer - Elections
Commissioner Hover moved to approve Resolution
265-2010 in the amount of $300 in the Elections Budget. Motion was seconded and
carried.
Resoution 266-2010 – Budget Transfer – Fair
Commissioner Hover moved to approve Resolution
266-2010 in the amount of $1,225 in the Fair Budget. Motion was seconded and
carried.
Motion – Consent Agenda
Commissioner Hover moved to approve the consent
agenda items 1-10 as presented. Motion was seconded and carried.
Update – Public Works
Frank Sautell & Bob Breshears
Frank updated the commissioners on the recent flood damage. The crew is finishing up on Highway 97 and will be putting black top down on Highway 7. The frontage road is completed. Next week the crews will be placing cattleguards on McCrumbacker Road is also completed and will be in Mclaughlin Canyon Road. Frank has been in touch with the CRAB Board and others trying to find some emergency funding for repairs to the damaged roads as the cost of may run as high as $200,000.
Public Hearing – Utility Franchise – Progressive Flat
Water
Verlene Hughes detailed the history of the past
franchise agreement and noted that Progressive Flat Water has applied for a new
10 year franchise. Commissioner Lampe asked why only 10 years. Verlene explained
that typically agreements are for 10 years unless requested to be longer. She
reported that there have been no problems with the association in the past.
Commissioner Lampe opened the hearing to public comment. No comments were given. Commissioner Hover moved to approve Resolution 258-2010, franchise agreement with Progressive Flat Water. Motion was seconded and carried.
Discussion – Fairgrounds Utilization – Linda Hotchkiss
& Gwen Whitley
Linda Hotchkiss & Gwen Whitley briefed the
commissioners on possible uses for the Fairgrounds and Agriplex that would
generate revenue. They explained some items that would need to be done in order
to make things more efficient.
