Watersheds: Okanogan: Walk the Basin

"Walk" the Okanogan Basin

A watershed is a geographic area of land bounded by topographic features and height of land that drains waters to a shared destination. Watersheds come in all shapes and sizes. No matter where you are, you're in a watershed!

This page links you to a "virtual tour" that allows you to digitally navigate the Methow watershed or basin in Okanogan County.  This is a descriptive tour, showing you samples of the river and tributaries, natural resources, plants, animals, and history along the way. At any point along the journey you can choose to back up, or continue down the river.  You will learn interesting tidbits about each basin as well as unique characteristics that make each watershed an interesting and exciting place to live, visit or study.
