Okanogan County Public Works is hiring a Traffic Control Striper Crewperson in Area 9 Omak/Okanogan. Starting salary for this position is $21.23 to 23.41 per hour. This is a full-time Union position with a generous benefit package which includes: Medical, Dental, Vision, Retirement options, Life and Disability insurance, sick and annual leave accruals and paid holidays.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
The Traffic Control Striper Crewperson has the primary function and responsibility to work under the direction of the Traffic and Vegetation Control Supervisor in all activities required for the maintenance and repair of the County’s Road System signing program and the traffic markings/striping program. These responsibilities include assisting the Traffic and Vegetation Control Supervisor in planning, organizing, and performing the activities required to keep the sign/delineators and traffic markings functional, on all County Roads. The crewperson may be required to operate pickups, trucks, and light equipment, and mowers, in the daily operations required in the Weed/Sign Department.
QUALIFICATIONS
A. Required
- 18 years of age minimum.
- High School Diploma or GED certificate.
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License. Commercial Driver's License with endorsements (Class A, Air Brakes, Tank Vehicles) and current updated health card.
- State of Washington flagging card (with picture I.D.) and current First Aid Card (w/CPR) will be required. These may be obtained within first year of employment, or whenever the County holds renewals for existing employees and new training for all road crew employees.
- Insurability and good driving record.
- Must live within 20 road miles and 30 minutes of area shop.
