Starting salary for this position is $22.45-25.67 per hour with annual step increases.

The Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office is seeking quality applicants for selection to serve as a Corrections Deputy. Corrections Deputies provide inmate supervision, in-custody court security, and transport services for up to 193 inmates housed at the jail. Corrections Deputies work as a team but must be independent and be good communicators and problem solvers.

Lateral or Certified Entry Incentives

• Time in Service Allowance - New hire presently employed with a public LE agency when hired shall receive annual leave accrual time credit based on years of continuous service. Additionally, time in service credit will be applied to step increase computation for wages.
•  Annual Leave Front-load - New hire shall be awarded one week of annual leave upon hire. Regular annual leave begins accruing immediately.
• Sick Leave Front-load - New hire shall be awarded two weeks of sick leave upon hire. Regular sick leave begins accruing immediately.

Background investigation, psychological and polygraph exams conducted on successful candidates. Hiring is provisional, based on outcome of completed psychological evaluation.
